Haryana to mull giving nod to DLF”s Rs 1,703 cr project

For developing an Rs 1,703-crore recreation and leisure project in Gurgaon, the Haryana government will consider giving approval to DLF which is the qualified bidder for the leisure project in Gurgaon to the state government for its consent. It was the only bidder for the 350 acres project after the bids of other parties Unitech and Malaysian based Consortium comprising Country Heights, Country Club of South Africa and Rajarhat IT Park did not qualify on technical grounds. However, the qualified bidder DLF has quoted its bid at Rs 12,000 per square metre against the reserve price of Rs 11,978 per square metre for the project.

DLF shifts focus to hospitality

DLF is now going to focus on hospitality where it has plans to launch three hotel properties in Delhi over the next couple of quarters in time for the Commonwealth Games and it is also looking to expand the high-end luxury brand Aman Resorts. However, it is said that DLF is lining up its wallet with $200 million to buy at least three super luxury hotel properties this financial year and is looking for properties in Laos, China and the US. Additionally, it also plans to float a special purpose vehicle to raise money for this through long-term debt. Hence, with the housing market starting to stabilize, DLF is looking to improve its business.

DLF Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009:

The Standalone results are as follows:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 1004.00 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 7009.90 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total Income has decreased from Rs 14938.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 5658.30 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The Consolidated results are as follows:

The Group has posted a net profit for the period of Rs 3960.00 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 18639.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total Income has decreased from Rs 38463.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 17459.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.
