Come 2010, Mahindra & Mahindra will launch Logan in a new avatar, mostly with a new brand name.

Meanwhile, as part of its new agreement, M&M gets the license to redesign and re-engineer Logan.

M&M also gets the right to develop a compact Logan below 4 meters.

Meaning, it can now design and develop a passenger car on its own without much hindrance.

The French auto major will carry on supporting M&M and Logan through a license agreement and supply key components, including the engine and transmission.

The company is also in discussion with Renault to use the Logan platform for future M&M branded products.

Currently, whether it will be car or a utility vehicle is still not clear, but, however, if it is a car it will bridge the only gap in the M&M’’s total vehicle portfolio from two wheelers to truck.

Moreover, if it is for a utility vehicle, the platform is very suitable for the compact SUV, which is set to hit the market in 2012.

Post the restructuring; Mahindra Renault Pvt Ltd will become a 100 % subsidiary of M&M.

M&M will be responsible for the management of the Logan in Indian market but the Renault name and logo will carry on to be used till the end of this year.

After 18 months, the car will be renamed and will sport only the Mahindra logo it added.

Previously, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) announced that Mahindra Tractors has sold one-lakh tractors in 2009-10.

It said that it has set a standard for sales in the Indian tractor industry.

To memorialize this, it held the first ever Mahindra Samriddhi convention in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) is expected to roll out its commercial vehicle Mahindra Navistar from the greenfield manufacturing facility at Chakan in Maharashtra soon.

After Maxximo, Mahindra Navistar is expected to be rolled out from their facility at Chakan spread across 650 acres, where all the expansion plans have been lined up.

Mahindra Navistar Automotive is a 51:49 joint venture between M&M and Navistar Inc. US.

Additionally, Mahindra and Mahindra launched a low-priced mini-truck- Maxximo, priced at Rs 2.79 lakh and this vehicle will target the small cargo vehicle segment, the company said.

The Maxximo will have a 2-cylinder CRDe engine with DOHC technology and four valves per cylinder.

The CRDe engine offers 25 HP of power and 5.5 Kgm torque and ensures good pick-up, acceleration and gradeability.

However, earlier, it was said that after announcing its entry into the medium and heavy commercial space, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) is now making new inroads in the mini truck segment.

It also had said that it is all ready to launch one tunner Maxximo at the upcoming Auto Expo from its LCV space, where it had no presence, especially when the segment has seen a CAGR of 20 per cent year-on-year.

Regarding the financial performance, for quarter ended December 2009, the company reported rise of 78.51% in its net sales to Rs 4497.12 crores as compared to Rs 2519.25 crores of corresponding period of previous year. Further, net profit of the company rose 3461.40% to Rs. 413.70 crores for quarter ended December 2009.

The 67 aircraft includes 42 Airbus 320 as well as 15 Airbus 330, and 10 Airbus 350 and 380 planes, are scheduled to be delivered to Kingfisher over the next six years.

Kingfisher Airlines is likely to get 10 aircraft in 2012- six Airbus 320 and four Airbus 330- while another 12 (9 Airbus 320 and 3 Airbus 330) will be delivered in 2013.

The airline is expected to get 45 planes between 2014 and 2016,

Kingfisher Airlines is currently trading at Rs.50.2, up by 3.72% at 10.09 AM.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.50.7 till now, as against the 52-week high of Rs.73.45.The stock hit a low of Rs.48.5 during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs.34.15 on April 8, 2009.

Kingfisher Airlines has an equity capital of Rs 265.91 crore as of 2009 Dec. The face value per share is Rs 10. At the current price of Rs 50.2, the P/E multiple stood at 0 with book Value of -83.88 and P/BV at -0.60.

The total shareholding pattern of the company as on Dec 2009 stood at Promoters- 66.27%, Institutional Investors- 12.38%, General Public- 9.36% and other investors- 11.99%.

Kingfisher Airlines” net loss for Q3 ended December 31, 2009 has widened to Rs 419.96 crore. However, the company had a net loss of Rs 413.39 crore for the quarter ended December 2008. It also reported a decline in its income from operations at Rs 1,352.45 crore for the December quarter, from Rs 1,447.83 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
