Moser Baer achieves 7.3% efficiency on solar panels
| Moser Baer’’s solar photo voltaic business yesterday announced the achievement of 7.3 % module efficiency for 400 W thin film large size module.
This will result in making the capacity of its plant to rise to about 50 MW from 40 MW, without additional capital expenditure. However, the company expects a 20% cost advantage on large size modules. The in-house research team has designed the process in the company’’s solar PV plant at Greater Noida. This improves the module wattage to 400 watts per panel from 340 watts per panel on full size modules. According to Dr Rajiv Arya, CEO of PV solar business at Moser Baer these thin film modules can be utilized for the installation of rooftop and for solar farms and this achievement is very timely. Moreover, he also added that it will help Moser Baer to address and reach the goals set in the National Solar Mission effectively by deploying these modules in large size solar installations. Meanwhile, the completion of testing and validation of breakthrough technology has boosted the stable efficiency of its single junction thin film modules to 7.3% from 6%. Meanwhile, lauding the achievement, Ratul Puri, Executive Director, MBJL, said “The breakthrough proprietary process will improve the viability of a-silicbn technology for the solar farm projects. This proprietary process is a game changer and will help us in addressing certain sections of the market by, Q2 2010,” He further added, “What makes this proprietary process special is that it is for the first time that any Indian player has achieved this level of efficiency leading to approx 20% cost advantage in this module size.” Moser Baer is currently trading at Rs.82.25, up by 0.67% at 9.37 AM. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.82.5 till now, as against the 52-week high of Rs.114.55.The stock hit a low of Rs.81.4 during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs.41.25 on March 12, 2009. The stock opens at Rs.81.7 at BSE. The total traded volume of the scrip on BSE till now stood at 61391. Meanwhile today, the BSE Sensex is trading up by 60.85 points, or 0.36% , at 17113.39 on 9:34 AM. The NSE Nifty is trading up by 16.65 points, or 0.33% , at 5118.15. Moser Baer has an equity capital of Rs 168.31 crore as of 2009 Dec. The face value per share is Rs 10. At the current price of Rs 82.25, the P/E multiple stood at 0 with book Value of 100.02 and P/BV at 0.82. The total shareholding pattern of the company as on Dec 2009 stood at Promoters- 16.29%, Institutional Investors- 28.08%, General Public- 12.91% and other investors- 42.72%. Considering the current price of Rs. 82.25 at 9:37:00 AM , the stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 10/03/2010 surged 8.08% as compared to the Sensex’’s return of 7.39% and NSE Nifty’’s 7.39 % returns. Considering the current price of Rs. 82.25 at 9:37:00 AM , the stock had underperformed the market over the past one quarter till 10/03/2010 declined -4.25% as compared to the Sensex’’s return of -0.03% and NSE Nifty’’s -0.03 % returns. |
